With the approval of the State Council, in order to support the construction of Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center, from January 30, 2016, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces and cities have implemented a 144-hour visa exemption policy for some national foreigners.

They can also stay in Shanghai, Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province for 144 hours without visa.

4. Passengers who apply for 144-hour transit visa-free shall show the specific information of the hotel booked in advance; If you are staying at the home of relatives and friends, you should provide detailed address and contact information.

5. Foreigners who apply for 144-hour transit visa exemption shall leave the country in time within the permitted period of stay. If they need to stay in the three administrative regions for more than 144 hours due to force majeure or other reasons, or exceed the scope of the permitted administrative region, they shall apply for the corresponding residence permit at the relevant provincial and municipal public security entry-exit administration department.
5.办理144小时过境免签的外国人应在准予停留期内及时离境，如遇不可抗力等原因需在上述三个行政区域内停留超过144小时的，或者超出准予停留行政区域范围的，应当到相关省、市公安出入境管理部门办理相应的停留证件。
6. During the exit border inspection, if the border inspection station finds that the foreigners who apply for 144-hour transit visa exemption have stayed in China for more than the specified time limit, it will be punished in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China, and may have a negative impact on the application for 144-hour transit visa exemption again.
