NOTES: The first Asian Games was held in New Delhi, India on March 4, 1951. There were 57 competitions in six major sports categories (namely track and field events, swimming, including water polo, basketball, football, free riding and weightlifting), which were participated by 489 players from 11 countries.

解析：第七届亚运会在1974年9月1日起至9月16日，于伊朗德黑兰举行，参加的有25个国家3000余人，这是亚运会举办以来，参加国最多选手也最多的一次。首次成为亚洲运动会协会会员的中国，第一次参加亚运会，由团长赵正洪率领269人的代表团，参加14个大项的比赛。
NOTES: The 7th Asian Games held in Tehran, Iran, from September 1 to September 16, 1974, played host to more than 3000 participants from 25 countries, the highest number of countries and participants since the inception of the Games. China became a member of the Asian Games Association then for the first time and participated in the Asian Games for the first time in 14 major events with a 269-member delegation led by Zhao Zhenghong, the head of the delegation.
