西门子呼吁延长节能灯关税

　　While Europes leaders were last week urging householders tofitenergy-efficient light bulbs, several governments were busybehindclosed doors attempting to block moves to cut theirprice.

　　A European summit agreed to toughen regulationsagainstold-fashioned incandescent bulbs by 2009 as part of a bid tocutgreenhouse gas emissions.

　　But earlier in the week officials from trade ministriesrebuffedattempts by the European Commission to end five-year-oldsurchargeson imports of energy efficient bulbs from China.

　　The 66 per cent duty was imposed in 2002 afterEuropeanmanufacturers complained of dumping by the Chinese. Itexpires inOctober but Siemens of Germany, which owns the Osrambrand, ispushing for an extension.

　　就在欧洲领导人上周敦促居民安装节能灯的同时，欧洲几个国家的政府正暗中忙碌，试图阻止降低节能灯价格的措施。
