Circuit City,the second-largest U.S. specialtyelectronicsretailer, and Web music service Napster said on Fridaythey willjointly offer a subtion service with millions of songs,the latesteffort to compete with Inc.s iTunes music store.
The new service will begin on April 29 with a subtion costof$14.95 per month. Consumers will also be able to buyindividualsongs at 99 cents each.
U.S. electronics chains and Web music services have soughtnewways to team up and compete with iTunes, which has more than80percent of the U.S. market.
