2015年以来，海洋科学学院新引进人才184名，其中专任教师62名、专职研究人员（含博士后）122名，他们正逐步成为一支可靠、可信赖、高水平的学术中坚力量。
徐天平，于2024年6月在中山大学获得博士学位，主要从事海岸带湿地生态和水沙过程研究。博士期间，基于现场观测与数值模拟方法，系统研究了潮间带不同地貌单元的水动力与地貌变化过程，深入分析了潮间带动力地貌的时空变化特征，并就人为扰动对潮滩动力地貌的影响进行了探讨。当前的研究方向主要聚焦于海平面上升对潮滩地貌的影响机制，特别是全球潮滩系统的临界海平面上升速率的预测。以往研究成果已发表在《Ocean Science》《Limnology and Oceanography: Methods》《Frontiers in Marine Sciences》等学术期刊。
Tianping Xu obtained his PhD from Sun Yat-sen University in June 2024. His research focuses on coastal wetland ecology and sediment transport processes. During his doctoral studies, he conducted systematic studies on the morphodynamic processes of the intertidal zone using field observations and numerical simulations. He thoroughly analyzed the spatiotemporal variations of morphodynamics in the intertidal zone, and explored the effects of human disturbances on tidal flat morphodynamics. His current research focuses on the mechanisms by which sea level rise impacts tidal flat morphology, with particular emphasis on predicting the critical sea level rise rate for global tidal flat systems. His research has been published in journals such as Ocean Science, Limnology and Oceanography: Methods, and Frontiers in Marine Sciences.
