　　在上海最为繁华的外滩地区，一群来自重庆开县等地的民工在这里工作、生活。他们主要从事老城区的拆迁和重建工作。他们举家住在这里，日复一日从事着艰苦和单调的工作。工地边是充满老上海风情的万国建筑群，工地后是高档生活区，对面则是东方明珠、金茂大厦等摩天大楼云集的陆家嘴中央商务区，虽然这一切近在咫尺，但对拆迁基地里的民工而言，却是一个完全陌生的世界。城市对他们而言，只是从一个工地到另一个工地。

　　In the most prosperous area besides the bund in Shanghai, there live a group of immigrant workers from Chongqing, who are mainly involved in the renovation of old urban areas. They live there, doing the same, simple and hard work on construction sites day after day. Around construction sites are central business areas in Shanghai, which are close to immigrant workers geologically but remote to them psychologically. The city of Shanghai remains a totally strange world to them. To them, city life only means moving from one construction site to another
