蓝光三年内将取代现有DVD标准

　　The Blu-ray disc association said on Thursday it aimed toreplacethe DVD storage format within three years.

　　“Within three years it will just be Blu-ray,”Frank Simonis,theBlu-ray Disc Associations European chairman, said at theCeBITtechnology trade show.

　　Blu-ray, which offers five times more storage capacity thanDVDsfor storing high definition films and other content, willfirsthave to beat the rival HD-DVD format which offers somewhatlowerstorage capacity but claims cheaper production of players,burnersand discs.

　　Measured in the number of players, Blu-ray is already wellaheadof HD-DVD because Sonys PlayStation 3 (PS3) video gamesconsolecomes with a built-in Blu-ray player.Sony ComputerEntertainmentsaid it had sold 1.84 million PS3s by the end of Decrin Japan andNorth America and that one million PS3s are ready forlaunch nextweek in Europe.

　　The HD-DVD camp conceded it is being outsold by Blu-ray becauseofPS3 by at least five to one, but it claims that sales ofmovietitles are still level. Film studio 20th Century Fox,whichsupports Blu-ray, said weekly Blu-ray film sales are actuallythreetimes higher than HD-DVD.

　　蓝光光碟协会上周四表示，在未来3年内蓝光规格的高清DVD将有望取代现有DVD存储格式。

　　“在3年内，市场上将只剩下蓝光格式。”蓝光光碟协会欧洲主席弗兰克·西蒙斯在德国举行的CeBIT科技展上表示。

　　蓝光DVD的容量比现有DVD格式高出5倍，可以存储高清晰度影片及其他内容，不过这一规格首先需要击败与之抗衡的HD-DVD格式。HD-DVD尽管容量稍低，但号称相应的播放机、刻录机与光碟的制作成本较为低廉。

　　不过在播放器销量上，蓝光则远远超过HD-DVD，因为索尼热销的PS3游戏机捆绑了蓝光播放器。

　　索尼游戏部门宣布，截至去年12月底，PS3在日本和北美的销售高达184万台，下周将有100万台PS3在欧洲上市。

　　HD-DVD阵营承认，由于PS3兼容蓝光，致使蓝光播放机的出售量大大领先HD-DVD，双方比例至少为5比1。不过他们宣称，双方出品的影片数量仍旗鼓相当。支持蓝光的电影商20世纪福克斯公司则宣称，蓝光格式DVD的影片每周的销售量比HD-DVD高出3倍。
