内容简介:《朱力亚的故事》记录的是一位中国女大学生,她由于性接触而感染上爱滋病毒,在经过反复思量后她决定将自己的经历说出来。她是在中国类似情况下首批勇敢站出来的女性。我们的拍摄跟踪了她5个月的生活,从她公开自己的经历前到公开后—从她一开始被学校和朋友排斥,继而逃避到网络的虚拟世界,并最后找到自我。2005年秋季开学的时候她被允许重返校园,她的朋友们也开始慢慢地接受她。

Brief Synopsis:“Julia’s Story” profiles a female university student who was infected with the HIV virus through heterosexual intercourse and after much hesitation decided to go public with her story. She is one of the very first women in her situation to do so in China. We followed her for 5 months and gained intimate access to her life before and after going public - from her being rejected by her school and friends, to her living in a web of deception and finally coming to terms with herself. In the fall of 2005, when she was allowed back to her school, her friends gradually showed signs of acceptance.

C.V. of Director(s):RUBY YANG Director Originally from Hong Kong, Ruby Yang has explored a range of Chinese themes in such documentary films as the 1997 production Citizen Hong Kong, which she directed, the 2000 production China 21. Both documentaries were shown on PBS stations as part of Asian Pacific Heritage Month. Citizen Hong Kong was also aired in Hong Kong, Taiwan and many European cities. She is now based in Beijing and has been working on a 4-part documentary series on AIDS in China. In 2004, she co-directed and edited a series of AIDS awareness Public Service Announcement featuring basketball stars, Yao Ming and Magic Johnson. The PSAs were first aired on CCTV (Chinese Central Television) in November, 2004 and they are still being showed on provincial, municipal TV channels, train stations and Beijing Buses. She has edited numerous documentaries and feature films. They include Spencer Nakasako’s A.K.A. Don Bonus, which aired on P.O.V. and won a national Emmy and the award-winning All Power to the People! The Black Panther Party and Beyond. She was both editor and associate producer for Joan Chen’s debut feature Xiu Xiu, the Sent Down Girl, which premiered at the Berlin Festival in 1998 and went on to win seven Golden Horses, Taiwan’s equivalent of the Academy Award. She also edited Chen’s first Hollywood feature, Autumn in New York, starring Richard Gere and Winona Ryder. In 2000, she worked with Eric Xu, the co-founder of Baidu.com on Silicon Valley, a 90 minute documentary for mainland Chinese TV. She directed and edited this feature documentary in San Francisco. She served as Series Editor for Bill Moyers’ Becoming American – the Chinese Experience (PBS, March 2003.) She worked closely with Moyers for over a year supervising the editing of all programs in the series. It received four Emmy nominations. Yang has received grants for her work from Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Creative Work Fund, the Independent Television Service, National Asian American Telecommunications Association, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Soros Documentary Fund and the 2004 Kaiser Media Fellowship for her project on AIDS in China.
