The trial of Saddam resumed in Baghdad on Monday, but was disrupted almost at once when the defence team walked out of court in a protest over the legitimacy of the tribunal and the security of lawyers.

　　2005年12月5日，在伊拉克首都巴格达，伊拉克前总统萨达姆（前）及其弟巴尔赞·哈桑·提克里提（后）在法庭上申诉。当天，伊拉克高等法庭开庭提审前总统萨达姆。这是萨达姆第三次出庭受审。但在庭审开始后不久，萨达姆的辩护律师便集体退庭，以抗议主审法官拒绝听取他们的陈述和辩护律师的人身安全得不到保障，并强烈质疑法庭的合法性。
