Northeast Asia Communication Symposium International is the international communication symposium originally held by communication academies of Japan and Korea. Chinese representative was invited to the 12th Japan and Korea international communication symposium for the first time in 2004. Communication University of China, as the organizer and coordinator of this symposium in China, had organized nine academic delegates to participate in the 12th symposium in Seoul, Korea, which included professors and scholars from Peking University, Renmin University of China, Wuhan Universtiy, Fudan University, and Communication University of China. This symposium decided to expand the Korea and Japan international communication symposium to a regular event with China to be a permanent member. The three countries take turns to hold the symposium. Asia Media Research Centre (AMRC) of Communication University of China is entitled to be the coordinative institute in China. In 2005, the symposium will be undertaken by AMRC in Beijing.
After close consultation of academies in Korea and Japan, the symposium has changed its name to “Northeast Asia Communication Symposium International”, with the theme of “cultural exchange in Northeast Asia”. It will invite people from academy to exchange ideas and have dialogues on relevant research and practice.
